STDs and teens

One in four teenage girls has a sexually transmitted disease, according to a new study. I'm skeptical about that number, but let's assume it is true.

What does it say about teenage boys?

That they are human beings programmed to reproduce via an appetite strong enough to render considerations of one's own health secondary?

I try not read AP stories because of their sensationalism...but I know it's pretty bad when you get in the innercity (think of article in the sports section about the Bay View football team a while back). As a boy in the 'burbs who didn't party during his HS days, I couldn't (and still can't) see first hand what was going on.

I'd like to know who was their sample...just more details. As the saying goes...Lies, damn lies...and statistics.
