Our disappointing Congress

The stimulus deal on a Congressional fast-track is a bad one -- more tax breaks for businesses and meaningless tax rebates for the masses that will take too long to distribute to do much for the economy -- and our elected officials sworn to uphold the law instead are about to telcos immunity for breaking it.

There's a chance slimmer than a fashion model that these things will get fixed before final passage, but they probably won't be.

What a damned depressing state of affairs.

Didn't you mean "slimmer than a fashion model on crack"?

To further confirm that the rebate is a bad idea, Bush approves of it.
