DeBruin eyes higher transit fares for Waukesha County residents

Waukesha County is considering assessing Milwaukee County transit riders who dare travel west over the county line on the Brookfield Square bus route an extra 25 cents.

County Supervisor Lynne DeBruin said today she will introduce a measure that would -- should Waukesha County go ahead with the "slap Milwaukee" tax -- instruct the Milwaukee County Transit System to look at ways of doing the same to Waukesha County residents riding transit east over the county line.

Sweet.

If this doesn't show that we need a regional transit authority to manage all transit in the region I don't know what does.

HA!

Hilarious. I'm reminded of the cartoon where like Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam keep drawing bigger and bigger guns on each other to intimidate the other.
